And the winner is Barcelona

While traveling around the world I've had the pleasure of visiting some amazing cities. But I've always struggled to find one that I'd enjoy living in, until I arrived in Barcelona.

Barcelona is a eclectic Spanish city that must be injecting something delightful into the water because the place is filled to the brim with great vibes, rich culture, history and of course the mind-blowing works of the Spanish Catalan architect Goudi, who was usually off his dial, dreaming up some kind of off the hook construction. Ahhh my kind of place!

If you haven't been to Barcelona yet, throw it on your list. It won't disappoint.

Enjoy.

Paella, Street Art and Masturbating Gargoyles

Valencia, home to Spain's best paella, street art and masturbating gargoyles…

Now I'm going to let the photo's do the talking.

Enjoy!

Fun in the San Sebastian sun

There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about San Sebastian. The place really has it all; delicious food, fun surf, friendly locals, pumping nightlife and an infinite amount of photo opportunities.

We spent one amazing week in San Seb, and by the end I was ready to settle down and start scouring the rental market. In all my travels so far, I've never felt so at home and comfortable in a foreign (non English speaking) country.

I had ALOT of trouble trying to cull down the hundreds of photos I took around San Sebastian, but here are my top ten.

I hope you enjoy these shots as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Back to the future in Bilbao

To be completely honest, I did absolutely no research on the city of Bilbao. All I knew is that we were headed to this small Spanish city for the music festival BBK Live (which I also knew nothing about). This is not the way I like to arrive in a new destination, as this will more often than not - leave you with a sour (and guilty) taste in your mouth upon departure.

Thankfully Bilbao was kind to us. Very kind in fact. The festival dished up some epic tunes by the likes of Mr. Jack Johnson, Kaiser Chiefs and the Chemical Bro's to name a few and the city was interesting to say the least.

After a few days of camping on the magical mountain-side for BBK Live, we made our way into the heart of the city for a day of sightseeing, before heading to San Sebastien for our long awaited coast injection. The inner city of Bilbao was a complete eye-opener for us. Because the outskirts of the city were in much need of some TLC, I assumed that the rest of the city would be in a very similar state. Apparently not!

Downtown Bilbao reminded me of a scenes from Back to the Future (the one with the hoverboards), complete with impressive architecture, superb sculptures and the housing the world famous Guggenheim museum. OMG!! WTFace?! etc etc..

A hot tip to any rookie traveller or soon to be globe trotter: do your research before you get to your next destination, because you might miss out on something extremely special. We narrowly avoided sheer disappointment. I won't make the same mistake again!

Here are a few shots from the mountain top where we resided at BBK Live and from the brilliant city of Bilbao.

Enjoy.
