Cambridge Vs. Oxford

It just one of those things - people either love Cambridge more than Oxford, or it's the other way round. It's kind of like asking a photographer about which DSLR they like the most. It's either a Cannon or a Nikon...end of conversation.

After visiting both uni's, I found it uber hard to decide which I was more partial towards. They both have their Harry Potter-esque charm, with their beautiful old buildings, perfectly manicured lawns, and plentiful numbers of rich kids strutting down the streets in their Ralph Polo attire.

Decisions decisions...

Hmmm... I think Cambridge may be the winner (Just don't tell Oxford!).

When you're walking down the cobblestone streets or cruising along the canals, Cambridge really feels alive. Even though the place is ancient, it's filled with such a youthful, energetic vibe.

Here are a few shots from my wanderings of Cambridge. You may also notice that there is a a slight shedding of clothing-layers in these shots and the flowers are in full bloom. Which means Spring finally sprung! Wooohooo!!

P.S. Check out my new watermark/signature! Took me all afternoon yesterday trying to work out how to batch process in Photoshop. Clever Kid!

Enjoy.

Switzerland - Part 1 - Geneva

This is part one of a three part instalment of our travels through Switzerland last week. Switzerland had WAY too many cool things to contain in just one post, so I'll break it up into bite-sized bits of AWESOME!

The first part of the Swiss trilogy is the very stunning city by the sea, Geneva.

Enjoy.

Little Bits Of London

Every time I plan a weekend of shooting, the inevitable happens...London rains on my parade...Literally!

With this being the case, I've resorted to digging deep into the vaults of my photo collections...just for a little photo fix.

Below are a few bits and pieces from here and there in London.

Damn you London and you're grey skies and sunless days...but damn...you're also one cool city.

Enjoy.

I AMsterdam

I received a text once from my Dad during a flyby trip that he did to Holland. The message read "I think I've died and gone to heaven." At the time when I received that text I didn't think too much into it - apart from the fact that Dad had clearly got his hands on some of Amsterdam's legal wacky tobaccy. But since visiting Amsterdam myself,  I have realised that there was more meaning behind the message than what I initially thought.

Amsterdam really is one of a kind. Apart from the obvious attractions such as their unique window shopping arrangements and those offering some herbal remedies, Amsterdam offers so much more if you dare to stray from skinny alley!

The next few shots will hopefully show you a few more of the marvels that Amsterdam have to offer.

Enjoy,

It Twas' The Night Before Christmas

I forgot to mention in my last post...

We met Santa last weekend in Brussels. The man is such a legend! We caught up for a quick stein of Leffe, his favourite Belgium brew.

I asked the jolly old bugger to share his secret to getting himself pumped and surviving the silly season, without falling asleep on the job. He told me the trick is in the Red-bull and his 'Special Snow' powder.

After he'd finished indulging in what he called his "Driving Kit", Santa shook my hand, walked out of the pub, performed a huge backflip infront of the Grand Palace, then jumped into his sleigh, all while screaming 'Redbull gives you wings' as he flew off into the distance.

Wowzers!!

I only just managed to catch his backflip in my lens. But I hope this is enough proof for all you non-believers out there -  that the jolly old fella really does exist!

Merry Christmas!

Brussels Love Mussels

Ahhh Brussel - the home of the worlds finest beer, chocolate, lollies, waffels and Xmas festivities.

The next few shots are from our 24hr stay in Brussels. Its was short but VERY sweet. I mean that quite literally too. I'm pretty sure I ate my own weight in chocolate and waffels!!

Enjoy!

Winter Wonderland Wanderings

Adventures to dark locations lit by a swirl of brightly coloured lights are any budding photographers ideal playground!

This week we braved the cold yet again to check out London's famous Winter Wonderland. This Santa-inspired events runs throughout December and is hosted by the iconic Hyde Park. Consisting of everything Christmas - this could make even The Grinch himself jolly.

Enjoy.
